A plush football emblazoned with a modified Tennessee Titans logo sparked rumors and conversation when it was posted and removed shortly thereafter on the memorabilia and collectibles site Fanatics.com, expanding chatter about whether the Titans are in the midst of a rebrand.
The logo in question resembles the classic Titans “fireball” logo, but with the flames removed. Instead, the modified logo features a red outer circle that encloses a white inner circle, inside of which there is a solid, light blue circle. Inside the light blue area sits the three stars of the Tennessee flag just like in the existing logo as well as the sword-shaped T, but the three points of the T have been shaved into flat lines rather than pointed edges.

Fanatics, the NFL’s and Tennessee Titans’ official e-commerce partner, declined to offer comment on the posting. Pegasus Sports, one of the NFL’s officially-licensed merchandising partners whose branding was on the mistakenly-posted plush football, could not be reached for comment despite multiple attempts from The Tennessean.
The Tennessean can confirm per a source that internal discussions about rebranding have taken place within the Titans’ organization, but cannot report on whether or to what extent the logo featured on the plush football will replace the Titans’ current branding or feature into the Titans’ future branding.
When reached for comment, a Titans representative said: “We do not have anything to share at this point in time.”
The Titans have showcased their fireball logo since taking on the Titans name in 1999 after playing two seasons as the Tennessee Oilers. First unveiled to the public on Dec. 23, 1998, the fireball logo has been the only primary logo the Titans have used in the 27 years since, though there have been times when the franchise has tinkered with uniforms, color schemes and branding, as well as times when Oilers iconography was used for throwback jerseys and merchandise.

The color scheme used on the leaked plush football more closely resembles the “Columbia Blue” palate used in the Houston Oilers era than the primary navy blue colors that have dominated the Titans era.
An era of change is coming for Titans football. The 2026 season will be the team’s final year playing in the existing Nissan Stadium, which has housed the Titans since 1999. In 2027, the Titans will move next door to the new Nissan Stadium, an enclosed structure that is on track to open to the public in February 2027.
