NFL fans are blessed to be living in an amazing time for the tight end position, with the league boasting one of the best collections of active players in the history of the league, and many of them are stepping into the spotlight to help spread the word that could help save millions of men across the globe.

While he was on Radio Row at the Super Bowl, former Tennessee Titans tight end Delanie Walker talked about joining current and former NFL tight ends in a Super Bowl commercial for Novartis, encouraging men to get screened for prostate cancer with an easy blood test.

“We just really want to stop the stigma on what people think of cancer screening,” Walker told Jim Wyatt. “Guys my age, 40 and up, when you think about prostate cancer, they think of rectal exams. With this campaign, we are just trying to get people to understand it is as easy as a blood test, and that is where the campaign, “Relax, it’s a blood test’ comes from.”

Walker joins active tight ends George Kittle (San Francisco 49ers) and Colby Parkinson (Los Angeles Rams), as well as retired tight ends Rob Gronkowski (Patriots, Buccaneers), Greg Olsen (Panthers), Tony Gonzalez (Falcons), and Vernon Davis (San Francisco 49ers), along with NFL head coach Bruce Arians, a prostate cancer survivor, in this important spot.

Walker spent 14 seasons in the NFL with the San Francisco 49ers and Titans, finishing his career with 504 receptions for 5,888 yards and 36 touchdowns, with some of the most productive seasons coming in Nashville, including his three Pro Bowl nods.
