Dua Lipa celebrates 10 years of Be The One: ‘Forever grateful’

Dua Lipa is taking a trip down the memory lane as her second single, Be The One, turned a decade old.

Celebrating 10 years of the song, which eventually got a spot in her eponymous debut studio album, the 30-year-old Albanian pop star shared some throwback videos from that era.

“10 YEARS OF BE THE ONE!!!!! Can’t believe it’s been a whole decade since this song found its way into the world,” she wrote alongside a series of old and new videos showing her performing the fan-favourite track during the concerts. “You guys turned it into something so much bigger than I ever imagined.”

Looking back on her second single, the Grammy winner continued, “From tiny shows to massive crowds singing every word back to me.”

She concluded the heartfelt message by expressing her gratitude, “You’ve been there through it all, and I’m forever grateful. Thank you thank you thank you [four white heart emoji].”

Among other clips of the Levitating hitmaker belting out Be The One, from her early days as an aspiring artist to her current status as a global superstar, one video stood out as the most memorable.

The second slide of the carousel featured a snippet from her studio recording session Lipa was seen lip-syncing and playfully dancing to the song while seated.

As Be The One continued to blast in the studio, the Physical chart-topper grabbed the camera to film the person sitting across the table from her.

Written by Lucy Taylor, Jack Tarrant and Digital Farm Animals, Be the One was released as Lipa’s second single on October 30, 2015, almost two years before it appeared as a track on her self-titled debut studio album, which was released on June 2, 2017.

From her early mini shows to now performing the song on her ongoing blockbuster Radical Optimism tour, both the artist and the song have come a long way in their journey to success after a full decade.
